Job Description
Sr Cloud Engineer: Ø Design and implement secure, scalable, cloud-native solutions and be responsible for driving architecture, design, development, security and operations. Establish functional or system standards to address operational requirements, quality requirements, and design constraints.
Ø Collaborate with engineers and software developers to select appropriate cloud systems architecture that meets the requirements. Designing and deploying dynamically scalable, available, fault-tolerant, and reliable applications on the Cloud. Selecting appropriate Cloud services to design and deploy an application based on given requirements
Ø Designing and implementing scaled cloud systems with a focus on solution architecture, using a range of tools and services, infrastructure-as-code, DevSecOps and security engineering practices. Designing, developing and deploying modular cloud-based systems
Ø Agile DevOps process using JIRA (including breaking down work into modular tasks, updating/tracking task status/work log entries for sprint management), Stash/Git (source code management including branching strategy, code review), Jenkins (automated builds, automated unit test cases, sonarqube analysis) and Chef/Ansible (auto deployment using zero down time application deployment techniques).
Ø Document design specifications, installation instructions, and other system-related information. Define and analyze objectives, scope, issues, or organizational impact of information systems.
Ø Direct the installation of operating systems, network or application software, or computer or network hardware.
Ø Configure cloud networks, servers (Windows, Linux), Databases (Amazon Redshift), storage (EBS, S3) as per the application architecture. Define and maintain standards, best practices for managing Amazon Web Services (AWS) resources and ensuring teams follow appropriate processes
Ø Identifying, analyzing, and resolving infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues. Evaluate existing systems to determine effectiveness, and suggest changes to meet organizational requirements. Perform security analyses of developed application environment
Ø Research, test, or verify proper functioning of software patches and fixes. Manage the access control and privilege access to applications, workloads, OSes, features and functionalities inside the AWS subscription. Monitor computer system performance, network (Nagios, Solarwinds) to ensure proper operation.
Ø Prepare analytical reports. Lead in the capacity planning and performance management of the AWS cloud infrastructure. Lead in the analysis, diagnosis and resolution of faults for AWS cloud operations
Ø Task automation via scripting such as Terraform, Cloud Formation, and ability to create scripts in Python, Perl or other language. Provide technical support for software maintenance or use.
Ø Recommend changes to improve operational costs. Implement and test the disaster recovery and ensure proper functioning. Adhere and participate in change management, problem management, release management, configuration management, disaster recovery and other ITIL processes.
Must be willing to travel & reloc to unanticipated client locs throughout
